LEAR FUSION SYSTEM STANDARD WARRANTY

When the system (equipment) is used in the intended manner, Lear Engineering Corp warrantees the system, including the PC, keyboard, mouse, internal PCI cards, system console(s), detector heads, interconnecting cables, and software against failure for a period of one year after shipment from Lear.

Breakage due to mishandling (such as dropping) and mechanical damage due to knots and twists going through the detector heads and enamel spills are not covered by this warranty nor are malfunctions or damage due to lightning strikes (a UPS will help prevent these problems).

Normal “wear and tear” items such as the reeds used in the detector heads to monitor the product surface and failure to periodically clean the air filters in the PC cabinet and resulting overheating shall be considered as outside the warranty provisions. Worn out reeds are easily and quickly replaced by the user and are always available from stock at Lear. Typical reed life is 2 years for round wire detectors (depending on line speed and wire diameter) and 2-5 years for flat wire lines using flat wire detectors. It is best to return flat wire detectors to Lear for reed replacement due to precise alignment requirements.

Normal cleaning and maintenance as outlined in the instruction manual should be considered as a guideline for staying within the warranty assurances.

In-warranty repair or replacement operations will, in most cases, be performed at Lear facilities in Dayton , Ohio , USA . Labor and materials for the repair or replacement will be at no cost while shipping will be billed to the equipment owner.

HOW TO PROCEED WITH WARRANTY REPAIRS AND REPLACEMENTS:

REED REPLACEMENT - Reeds are a normal wear item and are not covered by the warranty. To order replacement call or email the sales number given for your country in the "Contact Us" section of this website.

See the “Support” section of this website and call or email one of the named persons. This will also help to determine if the problem is within the warranty and what steps to follow to fix or replace the damaged equipment. Please recognize that, in many cases, Lear will have to see and inspect the failed part to determine if the warranty applies.
